A Healthy Recipe for Food, Fitness and Fun
Taylor Shaw launch a new partnership in Sheffield
Since taking over the contract to provide school meals to pupils in Sheffield, Taylor Shaw have been looking to form partnerships with local businesses and organisations. Tuesday 20th September saw the first of these partnerships being launched at Sheffield Uniteds Football Ground; Bramall Lane.
The partnership sees Taylor Shaw working together with Sheffield Uniteds Community Initiative, Sheffield Change4Life and Healthy Schools. Together we hope to bring Food, Fitness and Fun to the Local Community.
The Food, Fitness and Fun project will also see Taylor Shaw working alongside Sheffield City Council and the NHS to champion healthy and active lifestyles.
Representatives from the United Initiative, Change4Life, Sheffield City Council, Taylor Shaw and youngsters from six local schools attended a launch event at Bramall Lane stadium to introduce the project. There was a strong turnout from all sides of the partnership, including Sheffield United Chief Executive and Managing Director as well as Sheffield United players from past and present.
Following the launch at the ground, guests were treated to a tasty school lunch of chicken and vegetable pie and roasted vegetables at nearby Lowfield Primary School.
Peter McGrath, the general manager at Taylor Shaw Sheffield said he hopes to encourage all children to embrace school dinners and an active lifestyle.
We believe that through our high quality, freshly prepared food and nutritional expertise we can encourage children to love healthy food. However, health and wellbeing is not just about what you eat, which is why we have developed this new partnership with the United Initiative to promote fitness, teamwork and general health awareness.
Food, fitness and fun should be part of every childs life and together we believe we can achieve our goal of contributing to a healthier Sheffield.
Following this, Sheffield United kindly provided Taylor Shaw and Change4Life with a corporate box for their recent home game against Charlton on October 2nd. Peter McGrath attended the game along with members of staff and pupils from some of the local schools and representatives from Sheffield Change 4 Life. A great day was had by all, even though Sheffield United were beaten 2 0!
The Food, Fitness and Fun project has some exciting plans for the coming months so watch this space!
